DREAMSCAPES

Dreamscapes are produced using a simple technique known as sandwich slides. As the name suggests, this means that two slides are placed together in one slide mount, so that when they are projected or printed the viewer sees a combination of the two images.

Most random pairs produce confusing results since subject matter overlaps, producing a form of ghosting. Once in a while, however, particularly (though not exclusively) when one of the images is a silhouette, the resulting combination may create a third, other-worldly image. Thus the term Dreamscapes, since they are not true records of the world as we know it.

Ron started making Dreamscapes in 1990 and a selection of 20 images has been exhibited in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, generating an enthusiastic response. The collection now numbers about 100 images.
