The Great River Race

A comparative newcomer among Thames events, this race takes place each September. Hundreds of oar-powered boats row from Richmond to Greenwich, some of them intent on winning, while others are just there for the fun of it. Here a tourist bus pauses on Lambeth Bridge to watch the boats pass below.
